Hero turned Villian turned hero, Didier Drogba, scored the winning penalty to hand Chelsea the Champions League title on Penalties against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Stadium in Munich on Saturday night.

Bayern Munich did everything right in the penalty shootout until both Olic and Bastian Schweinstiger missed their penalties to hand Ivorian International Didier Drogba the chance to write his name in Chelsea folklore, after scoring a goal and conceding a penalty within moments of each other earlier in the match.
After a match largely characterised by Bayern Munich’s constant pressure but toothless finishing, German international, Thomas Muller snuck in behind Ashley Cole to header in what he thought was the winner eight minutes from normal time, only for Didier Drogba to become a Chelsea hero with his own headed goal only two minutes from the end, to send the game into extra time.Chelsea were handed a life line early into the extra time when Peter Cech saved off Robben’s penalty after hero-turned-villain Drogba brought down Ribery in the box.

Two near misses by Bayern in the final moments of extra time almost sealed the victory for the German club but in the end they had to make do with a penalty shoot out which condemned them to their second straight lose in a Champions League Final.
