It was suppose to be so different. It started out as a weekend to savour with Bafana Bafana needing to win against lowly Sierra Leone and the Springboks taking on a wobbly Australian side coming off a recent defeat by Ireland, but it ended like a nightmare and in the aftermath it’s been blamed on two people.

Bafana Bafana were favourites to beat a lowly Sierra Leone side in Rustenburg, especially after goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune claimed South Africa was untouchable at home, but made...? Continue reading...

After the celebrations of National heritage day last week saturday. we here at GEM decided to highlight the national sports of South Africa and after hours of consulatation decided on the sport of Juskei.
.jpg)
Jukskei is a traditional Afrikaans sport involving 2 Batons or skei's (not much unlike a pin in 10 pin bowling) and a peg sticking out the ground on either side of a 11 or 16 meter sand pit. Two teams of 4 members take turns throwing their skei's in hope of hittting the peg. If a p... Continue reading...

this could refer to a number of teams: Barcelona's 8-0 drubbing of Osasuna, Uniteds destruction of Chelsea, Sebastian Vettal in F1 or even Orlando Pirates cup record but instead we chose to focus on .... salford surge Handball team. Yes handball is a sport and a very good one at that, it's played in the olympics and has a massive following in europe. The Salford surges are the Barca of Hand ball. the Rise and fall of Arsenal under Arsene Wenger.
It all started in hope and then joy and
then on Sunday: pain like never before. Arsenal have in the last decade and a
half gone through the highest of highs and the lowest of lows and all of it has
been under the helm of the Frenchman Arsene Wenger. Wenger Joined Arsenal in
19996 as a replacement for Bruce Rioch. The Frenchman has just ended a short
stint at Japanese club Nagova Grampus eight where he was voted the leagues best
manager. The... Continue reading...

What has already been a difficult month for London yesterday became a nightmare. Not only have london residences and buisnesses been mugged by rioters recently but now their beloved Footballl teams have been mugged on the pitch. an the culprit?: Those pesky lads from Manchester. Manchester City started first by trouncing Tottenham in the "game of pretenders" 5-1 with Edin Dzeko bagging 4 of the goals and Nasri grabbing the headlines on his Debut. It was always gonna be a hard act to follow fo... Continue reading...

Pieter DeVilliers tonight named his squad for the World Cup to
be held in New Zealand in just over 17 days time. The squad held no real surprises,
except for the exclusion of Lwazi Mvovo in favour of Odwa Ndungani, with 18 members
of the squad veterans from the last World Cup winning campaign. As expected Pat
Lambie made the cut, as did Morne Steyn,
after injury scare experienced in the immediate aftermath of Saturday’s victory
over New Zealand. It was also announced that John Smit will... Continue reading...

one of the funniest and most interesting thing to do when the new Football season comes along is to predict and monitor the sides who will go unbeaten for the longest. Last season in the EPL it was Manchester United and this season it promises to be just as juicy. With all teams having to play 38 Matches in the EPL and 30 in the local PSL, it becomes a hard task for anyside to remain unbeaten but its fun to see how far your favourite team is doing.Coming into this weekends second round of ...
