The resurrection of the buccaneers
Football fans from across the nation came out in numbers to witness two Soweto giants going head to head for the Absa Premiership Soccer League at FNB stadium this past Saturday. Tension, excitement and thrill was in the atmosphere as Orlando Pirates, following its 3-0 catastrophe against Santos just days earlier, Beat their rivals Kaizer Chiefs 3-2 in the popular Soweto derby

Unlike most PSL football games played in recent weeks; this match was exciting, breathtaking and the result somewhat unexpected.

Orlando pirates led 3-0 by the 23rd
minutes with 2 goals from veteran player Benni Mc Carthy, making it his 7th
goals this season, and another from Diane Klate who was later substituted.
The glamour boys seemed to struggle without
Tenashe Nengomashe in the midfield. The playmaker has been sidelined due to
injury joining the likes of Reneilwe Letsholonyane.
Simphiwe Tshabalala saved Kaizer chiefs from
ridicule by hitting the back of the net before half time. Chiefs followed that up with a goal from Lehlogonolo Majoro in the second half of the match.

Although millions of Amakhosi fans were disappointed by the eventual outcome of the match, both teams played exciting football which was a marvel to watch.
