English football giants, Manchester United closed their two match tour of South Africa with a 1-1 draw with Ajax Cape Town at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday.

Manchester United, recently voted by Forbes as the most valuable sports brand in the world, played matches in Durban and Cape Town as part of their 6 match, 4 countries, world tour which will see them play in China, Sweden and Germany in the coming weeks.

The final weekend of Wimbledon saw some of the best and most dramatic moments in recent history as both the men’s and woman’s finals were played out on Centre Court.

In one of the closest finishes in recent history, Pomodoro edged out 100-1 outsider Smanjemanje to win the Vodacom Durban July at Greyville Racecourse on Saturday.

3 year old Pomodoro, itself a relative outsider at 28-1, placed itself well at the start of the race with Vettel, Beach Beauty and favourite Jackson all leading the pack. Spain became the first football team in history to win three consecutive major international tournaments, when they beat Italy 4-0 in the Euro 2012 final on Sunday night.

 Wimbledon is by far the most formal of tennis tournaments. Participants are expected to abide by a strict dress code of white, or almost all white, uniform. Although a little colour accent, particularly green, is allowed. Farmer Shorts, two tone T-shirts and crocs are not encouraged.
